The Worldwide Beach View: Gaining Outdoor insights from your Computer. Jun 30

This article will encompass several key ideas. Initially, I will explore what it means to discuss the beach from a worldwide or internet-based point of view. Then, I will explore how this interpretation contributes to popular interpretations of the beach.

To bring the beach to an online reader would be impossible. It is impossible to describe the feeling of the sand between your toes, or the smell of sea salt as your approach your shore. Moreover, relatively speaking, while all beaches are roughly the same, individually they are extremely unique.

Beaches by definition are where the land meets the sea. As a result, the land will not be hard terrain like in a forest, but consists of many grains of sand.  Because of the salt water, beaches usually have a sea-salt smell to them. Some find this odor pleasant, as it reminds them of the beach. Others find this scent repulsive and in turn may not enjoy going to the beach as much as others.

The beach is great place for social gatherings. Families enjoy going to the beach for a vacation, while young adults may see the beach as a phenomenal place for hanging back and having a good time.

Beaches are also known to hold some of the most exotic animal life. All sorts of crabs and fish live beneath the water, not to mention that amazing and colorful coral beneath the sea.

However, while I could give you description after description about the beach, there is nothing like going to the beach itself. That’s why it’s so much more important to go to the beach and see it for yourself rather than interpret it from these readings. There is nothing like one’s personal experience in terms of the beach. The sights, the sounds, the smells, are all ultimately indescribable. Nature is something to experience, not read about.

While I can give you the best description of the beach possible, at the end of the day you will have to determine your own opinions on the beach. Certainly there are those who love those 7-10 days they spend at the beach every year. At the same time, others value the forest or the desert or even the open plains of the Midwest. The key in nature is finding what you like and going for it, whether it’s the beach or not.

With a cruise vacation it is now more possible than ever to explore some of the most gorgeous and exotic locations across the globe. From the rivers of Europe to the islands of the South Pacific, the only restriction on where you can go is an accessible waterway.

The great thing about a cruise is that all the planning is done for you. There is no need to book multiple hotels and arrange for transportation between destinations because your transportation is your hotel!

Here are a few ideas for exciting cruises to beautiful places. Don’t be afraid to consider something that is a little off the beaten path. You never know what you might find there.

1. Australia/New Zealand Cruise

This exciting cruise departs from Sydney and sets sail off into the Pacific. One of the exciting features of this trip is a stop at the gorgeous Isle of Pines. This New Caledonian island is often called “l’ile la plus proche du paradis” which translates to “the closest island to paradise.” The Isle of Pines is primarily famous for the great snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities in its pristine lagoon.

Another destination on this tour is the capital city of New Caledonia, Noumea. This often-overlooked city has more days of sunshine than any other Pacific Island capital. This works out great because of all the city’s fantastic beaches! This cruise is a great way to see some gorgeous places that you probably never heard of before.

2. Europe/North Sea

Many European cruises take advantage of the waters of the Mediterranean, but this cruise departs from London and explores the cities of the North Sea!

After a stop in Brussels, you will set sail to Copenhagen, the capital and largest city of Denmark. This gorgeous and historical city has one of the best quality of life ratings of any city in the world. It is also incredibly environmentally friendly. Over a third of the city’s residents commute to work by bike and the water in the harbor is so clean you can swim in it!

This cruise also has stops in Helsinborg, Sweden and Oslo, Norway. It is truly an unbelievable opportunity to explore the diverse cities and people of the North Sea.

3. Europe/Mediterranean Cruise

Of course if you haven’t gone on a cruise of the Mediterranean, you should know that it is popular for a reason. The waters, sights, and people of the Mediterranean Sea are unlike anywhere else in the world.

This particular cruise leaves Malaga, Spain and has its first stop in the city of Ajaccio, Corsica. As the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, this city is rich in history and ready to be explored.

Next it is off to the southern coast of France, specifically the Provence region. This area is renowned for its mild climate, music, food and wine. This short cruise packs in a great deal of beauty, history, and culture.

Cruises of the Caribbean parts of Mexico are common, but vacationers are just now starting to rediscover the Pacific coast of Mexico. This cruise leaves San Diego and explores the Mexican Riviera.

One of the most exciting stops on this trip is the Mexican city of Mazatlan. The waters off the coast of this tropical city are renowned as amazing sport fishing territory. The city itself is a haven for cultural exploration.

There is a booming classical music scene and the main through street, the Calle Constitucion, is closed in the evenings on the weekends. This is so that natives and tourists alike can explore the arts, cuisine, and nightlife of the city center.

5. Alaska Cruise

Cruises of the Alaskan coast are a great way to see some gorgeous scenery. As a special treat, this cruise skirts the coast of the Hubbard Glacier, the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska.

The Alaskan town of Sitka is another highlight of the trip. Kayaking day trips are offered and they are a great way to get a closer look at Alaska’s dynamic coastline. Hiking trails are also abundant near Sitka. If you are looking for a cruise that is rife with outdoor opportunities, then you can’t go wrong with an Alaskan tour.

6. Asia Cruise

Cruises throughout the Indian Ocean are also becoming more popular. This cruise leaves Hong Kong and has its first stop at the island city of Sanya. This town has gorgeous tropical beaches and is actually the training ground for China’s beach volleyball team.

The town itself is full of exciting things to do and see. There is a butterfly museum, a shell aquarium, and an amazing 108-meter statue of Guan Yin. It is one of the tallest statues in the world and it took six years to complete. Sanya and the other destinations on this trip have ample opportunities for either relaxation or exploration.

7. Southern Caribbean Cruise

With more and more people discovering the joys of a cruise vacation, the number of destinations is growing as well. Even though the Caribbean has always been a big area for cruises, cruise companies are now branching off to explore new destinations within the Caribbean.

Castries, the capital of Saint Lucia, is one town that has greatly benefited from the tourism boom. When your ship docks there are taxis readily available to take you on tours of the city. You can even tour it on a water taxi! One of the most exciting sites in Castries is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. It is the largest church in the Caribbean and a can’t miss on this trip!

The world is full of beautiful places, interesting people, and fascinating cultures. A cruise isn’t the only way to explore the world, but it is one of the easiest and most exciting ways to see places you’ve only dreamed of.

Chile Vacations- Classic Patagonia Jun 17

With 14 teams competing from around the world, four Britons took home the title for the second year in a row at the eighth edition of the annual ‘adventure at the end of the world.’

This hardcore adventure trekking event known as the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race takes in Chilean Patagonia each February. The truly thrilling expedition involves teams of four through rarely chartered, raw Chilean Patagonia. Racers are essentially on their own as they traverse the pristine wilderness by means of trekking, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and backcountry orienteering, often traveling hundreds of kilometers without seeing another soul.

The unique quality of the Wenger Race is that every year they plan a different route for its competitors so you can’t necessarily use your geographical knowledge from previous years. Past years racers have navigated in the Southern Continental Ice Field, the Straight of Magellan, Torres del Paine, Tierra del Fuego, the Beagle Channel and Cape Horn. Teams are required to pass through checkpoints at certain points in their journey; other than these checkpoints, they are largely isolated in the wilderness.

This year the race began with a 215 mile stretch south through open fields on bikes and on foot. Next came the 65 mile trek across the Darwin Mountain Range in which seven of the 14 teams failed to make it across. The teams that were left faced a 25 mile journey by kayak across the Beagle Channel before the final 15 mile trek to the finish line. Sixty mile an hour winds were pushing the mountain bikers along at more than 30 miles an hour without having to even pedal.

Defending champions were led by British adventurer Nicola MacLeod. They crossed the finish line having traveled the total 360 miles in six-and-a-half days, a new record for the race. At one point they failed to find a rope crossing over a fast-flowing river and were forced to strip down and swim. They were swept rapidly downstream but due to their strong strokes and right location. They made it, though probably a little hypothermic, to the other side.

Injuries were common as usual. One competitor slipped on a rock in the Darwin Range and suffered a hematoma in his leg. Trying to continue he was forced to quit when the pain became so great he almost passed out multiple times. Many racers lost toe-nails and two teams had to stop due to a stomach illness that drained them of energy.

The event is designed to raise awareness for the fragile environment of Chilean Patagonia. It generally does an excellent job of displaying the very best natural wilderness in the region and this year was no exception. The focus is on educating the global community about the environmental issues plaguing isolated and virgin territories, developing sustainable tourism and avoiding the exploitation of natural resources with non-sustainable industrial activities.

The race began on February 10, at a quarter past noon and the cut-off time for teams to finish was February 17th.

Chilean Patagonia is a remarkable destination, which embraces ecotourism with infinite sites of natural beauty and wonder. Don’t neglect an opportunity to add this extraordinary place to your Chile vacation itinerary.

Why Should You Visit a Beach on a Tropical Island? May 21

There are beaches all over the world, but there are few beaches on a tropical island since there are few tropical islands with beaches that tourists can visit. There are some tropical islands with natural beaches that people just can’t visit because it is too hazardous to go to these beaches and they have wildlife on them that may be dangerous. Nevertheless, there are a number of tropical islands that people all around the world enjoy.

You have island such as the Hawaiian Islands, the islands in the Caribbean, and Tortuga Island. They all offer something unique. For instance, some islands offer private beaches. Hawaii is popular for this. However, some hiking is required to reach these destinations and camping on the beach is the only lodging options in these areas.

Here are some other reasons why you should visit a beach on a tropical island:

  • The trees – Not only do you have palm trees, but there are other types of trees. Nevertheless, the palm trees can complete the beach environment. You can hang out under the trees, and so much more. You may even find the occasional coconut tree or banana tree. If you visit an island that is known for wildlife, the occasional monkey in a tree is not unusual.
  • The wildlife – There are beaches with a lot of creatures on the beach. You can find different types of crabs, monkeys, and other such animals. There are some, however, that you can’t touch, but observing is okay.
  • The activities – There are plenty of activities to engage in on a tropical island beach aside from sunbathing and swimming in the ocean. There are some islands, such as the Hawaiian Islands that experience waves. You can go surfing in these waves. You may also observe the occasional surf contest. You have to be careful, though, because the waves are very wicked in Hawaii and some waves require a lot of experience to surf.

You may also see stage shows, go camping, go hiking, and take island tours. In Hawaii you can see volcanoes and even hike up a volcano.

  • The food – Tropical islands also have food that is native to them and you can try that food so that you can get a taste of the native land.

There are plenty of activities that you can do. There are couple activities, individual activities, and family activities. You may even decide to bring a group along with you. Adults can enjoy the tropical bars, while the whole family can take surf lessons or go scuba diving.

Child Friendly Beaches in the United States May 19

When taking the kids for a beach vacation, you have to make sure the beaches you take them to are child friendly beaches. In other words, you are not going to be taking your child to a nude beach or a beach that is known for very heavy partying. Party beaches are those with a lot of college students drinking non-stop.

Both the East and West coasts of the United States are consumed with beaches. For instance, on the East Coast you have beaches as far north as Maine. Orchard Beach serves as an especially nice family getaway in a region that is cooler than beaches you’ll find further south.

Here is a list of other child friendly beaches that you can consider for your next family vacation:

  • Coast Guard Beach – This beach is found on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Hiking, swimming, building sandcastles, shops, restaurants, and great places to eat make this a beach that has received rave reviews.

  • Myrtle Beach – Myrtle Beach is South Carolina’s most famous beach. You have miles of beach with premium lodging. There are plenty of activities for children to enjoy. There are arcades, an amusement park, plenty of shopping, plenty of restaurants, put-put golf ranges, golf courses for golfing families, go-carts, Ripley’s Believe it or not (museum and aquarium), and so much more. This is a Spring Break beach, but not to the extent of Florida beaches such as Daytona Beach.

  • Daytona Beach – If you will be vacationing outside of spring break, Daytona Beach, Florida offers a lot to families. This 20 mile long beach offers premium lodging, arcade games, shows, rides, shops, movie theaters, and so much more.

  • The Outer Banks – The Outer Banks is proving to be one of the best getaways offered by North Carolina. There are sand dunes that the kids can enjoy, boardwalks, shops, and the beaches are not overly crowded.

  • Coronado Beach – This beach, located in San Diego, California is a great beach for kids. Fish can be seen jumping, the sand is ideal for sand castles,

  • Newport Beach – You can head to Newport, Oregon to experience a cooler climate and observe whales from a distance in a beach environment.

  • Dune State Park Beach – Located in Gary, Indiana, this is not an ocean beach, but a lake beach that offers a few miles of sandy beach for kids and their parents to enjoy swimming and sunning. When not on the beach, you can camp or go hiking.

So when looking for a great beach to take the kids, the above are great suggestions for you. There are, however, many beaches that you can take the kids based on the activities that you and them want to do.

The Paradise that is a Tropical Island May 18

What makes a tropical island so much different than a beach on the coast? Well, there are a lot of things that set the two apart. First of all, coastal beaches are connected to the mainland and they lose their tropical appeal once you travel inland just a few miles. One minute you are on the beach and the next minute you are driving through a bustling metropolis. When you are on a tropical island, even traveling into the city can still carry the essence of the island. In other words, even the cities are tropical.

A tropical island has a certain essence about itself. For instance, the water usually appears very blue. It also looks very clean. The entire island is filled with palm trees, lots of sand, and incredible resorts. The resorts themselves continue carrying the tropical appeal. You don’t feel like you’ve left the island the moment you walk through the resort doors.

Activities

The activities that are offered by tropical island beaches are many. Families, couples, groups, and individuals can enjoy a number of activities that range from simply sunbathing to going parasailing or going fishing. You may also want to enjoy some shows that may occur, such as concerts. Nature activities such as hiking are also common because many tropical islands have the deep forests that exist upon them. Many times, the beach, the resorts, and the small communities that surround the resorts are part of a bigger picture. In the middle of the island is a tropical forest full of wildlife, trees you will not find many places around the world, and natural springs that sustain life within the island.

Some islands offer bicycling, the opportunity to lounge on a remote beach, and surf lessons. For volcanic islands, there are hiking tours of volcanoes. You can look down into the mouth of volcano to see what it is like. There are lava fields, such as those on the Hawaiian Islands, and so much more.

Food

You will need to try the cuisine on the tropical island that you have decided to visit. You will have the opportunity to try foods that you have never eaten before. Some of the foods revolve around seafood since the island is surrounded by ocean. Any island environment tends to benefit economically from the many fisheries bringing in fish that are unique to the area and, although fish of one kind may be served around the world, it may be prepared differently.

Add food to the exceptional scenery and all of the activities that you can do and you have a tropical island paradise that you will never want to leave.

Luxurious pool of the world May 14

Swimming is one activity which re-energizes people. Apart from that, swimming pools are places which mean fun, relaxation and most of the coolest parties in the entire world are held at the pool side. A party at the pool side will definitely get you hooked. Other than that, pools offer you relaxation in which you can just let your hair down take a dip and lie at the pool bottom and rejuvenate yourself.

Below is a list of two luxurious pools in the world. It is always worth to get yourself in there whenever you have the time for that. Also, it is important to take a note that most of the pools that offer lavishness are private pools at clubs or at palaces. Other than that there are only a few outdoor public pools that offer the same sumptuousness to the swimmers and pool enthusiasts.

This is the world’s largest and plush swimming pool that is located in Seagaia resort (Japan). It can accommodate atleast 10,000 people at a time. Now that is a figure! A huge one!

To top the excitement and the rush it has been observed that a volcano of water erupts from the pool bed in every 15 minutes. The voice of the enjoyment of people reaches over 20 kilometers when the pool is open. One can easily guess what it would be with the roof closed. It has also been voted as one of the best pools so far. Many private members of the resort just visit time and over again to gain complete freedom from their everyday stressful life and apart from that, this pool offers you the best features ever.

Lavish outdoor swimming pool:

Now that’s something really huge! This is not a pool technically, it’s a salt water lagoon built by great engineers and is personally monitored by them. It is awarded with a Gunnies Book of World Record Award for being the largest swimming pool in the world.

A computerized suction and filtration system keeps the water in constant circulation and there is really lot many brains involved in successfully completing this work. This thing basically works on getting water from the ocean at one end and then propelling it out from the other end.

This defines luxury in true sense of the word. Also, people just love to sit at the end of the poolside and enjoy the lovely view it offers.

The most luxury swimming pool of the world May 12

Among the world’s most luxurious and most expensive swimming pool is the twenty acre pool located at the San Alfonso Del Mar resort in Chile. The pool is the size of three football fields and has entered the Guinness World Record books as the largest swimming in the world. A computer-controlled suction and filtration system keeps the ocean water that is drawn in at one end clean and clear. The water is pumped out at the other end. The crystal clear water offers you the chance to see the bottom even at the pool’s deepest end. You can relax in the water that is kept at a constant 78 F. While the pool cost $2 billion to build it requires $4 million a year for maintenance.

The San Alfonso Del Mar in Algarrobo is also the world’s largest swimming pool. The city is a great summer destination and a splash in the clear blue waters is what every tourist looks forward to. The 1,000 meter long swimming pool stands out on the travel map with tourists from all over the world flocking to the area. Chilean biochemist, Fernando Fischemann, used his revolutionary techniques to build this man-made paradise. The pool is spread over 8 hectares of land and holds over 65 million gallons of water. Even at the deepest end at 115 feet you can still manage to get a glimpse of the bottom since the waters are crystal clear at all times.

While swimmers can have a great time at the pool at San Alfonso del Mar, people are also allowed to navigate small boats in the pool, which makes it one of the most favorable places to enjoy a relaxing time. The pool took five years to build but is well worth the effort.  The pool is also among the healthiest with the least amount of toxins than normal pools. The water is purified through a Pulse Oxidation process designed by the pool’s constructor. The unique pyramid-like structures that makes up the residential complex provides an excellent view of the ocean and the swimming pool. At any time, you can see colorful sailboats along the crystal blue waters over the entire stretch.

If you have never tried kayaking on a pool then you need to experience it at the San Alfonso Del Mar. You can transfer from one corner of the pool to another in a kayak or small boat. If you want to walk the entire length of the pool, it could take you more than an hour. If you are looking for comfort and world-class facilities, then the San Alfonso del Mar is the place to be.

Beach Bliss on Tropical Island May 10

On the beach, you can live in bliss. Everyone will nod their heads to this statement about beaches. The serene and healthy atmosphere, the stress relieving nature and many more beautiful factors draw people to the beaches time and again. Visiting just a local beach on a one day picnic is also fun but going for a vacation to a tropical island full of beaches is ultimate ecstasy. The climate, natural abundance, the golden sands and the clear blue waters will all rejuvenate and energize you to come back and tackle all the pressures of everyday life.

There is a legion of secluded islands with pleasant, tropical climate found in different parts of the world. Brazil, Jamaica, Hawaii, the Maldives off the Indian coast, the Chedi near Thailand, the Four Seasons Great Exuma in the Caribbean islands and Seychelles in Africa are all notable islands with exotic beaches. The main advantage of vacationing in the beaches of tropical islands is that these are comparatively less crowded and exploited by tourists giving you the much needed privacy and peace.

Entertainment, recreation and relaxation avenues are aplenty in these paradisiacal beaches and islands. Outdoor baths, tanning beds, white daybeds, and secluded golden sand beaches, top notch spa pavilions to enhance your beauty, private swimming pools and vast golf courses are some major highlights of these gorgeous getaways. The holiday will just be half spent when we forget to enjoy some daring water sports. Sailing, surfing, snorkeling, kayaking water skiing, wind surfing, diving, fishing, some yoga and meditation, and many more interesting stuff which you would have never tried doing will be available for you to explore and enjoy. Educational and fun activities are available for your kids and the resorts here happily offer to baby sit your kids while you are out exploring the island.

The major part of the vegetation in such islands includes the palm trees while a large variety of creepers are found all over the place. The interesting fact here is that many insects and micro organisms found here help maintain the ecological balance by preventing the spread of harmful moths and also in the conversion of plant wastes into fertile manure. Sea food is the obvious favorite when you are vacationing in beaches and islands. Crabs, octopuses and many such rare delicacies will be available with lot of coconut flavor too. Choose an island and set out immediately for what might become your best vacation ever.
