You could summarize things saying that you can find a whole world in just one province of South Africa and that is KwaZulu-Natal. Here you’ll be able to spot the swanky game reserves, beaches, also the Drakensberg Mountains and temperate Midlands are also worth a visit. If you were to head onto the Southern side then you could also get a glimpse of all the golf courses and fishing blemishes. Today, it is famously called as Kingdom of Zulu where there is a combination of African, European and Indian culture.


Durban is also called as South Africa’s Miami Beach and there are numerous hotels at the sea front, giving you the Indian Ocean view; for the visitors stay. The port of Durban is the busiest one in SA and is ranked as number 10 in the world. It’s a perfect holiday spot because of the pleasant and temperate climate all year long. And here we are, Yet again with yet another exciting and wonderful season of FIFA World cup Football or Soccer as you like to say, Being hosted by South Africa. I know quite a lot of people like me are specially waiting for the opening ceremony of this mega event which South Africa has always done it in style. Let it be Cricket, Football or Olympics, South Africa always does these opening ceremonies in style!

So, coming forward to the encounter. The Kick-off match which is going to be between the hosts South Africa and Mexico. Who is favourite? who is having more chance on the paper? and what the world has to say regarding the match?

Looking for the teams on the paper, Mexico certainly look favourites. Having more experience playing the world cup games plus having the services of some of the experienced guys in their side. South Africa, on the other hand lack star players but who know? You just need one chance and one foot directing ball in the right direction and game is right there in your pocket without the need of knowing if the foot behind the ball was a superstar or not!

Mexican forward Vela seems fully motivated and charged up to take on South Africa and is eager to play his part making his team come out with their flags rising. In an interview with FIFA.com he said’

“It’s fantastic because the whole world will be watching the game.Carlos Vela, Mexico forward”

Young Barcelona midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos is now out from Mexico’s final 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa despite playing a full 90 mins match against Gambia which Mexico easily won the 5-1.

However, The mexican squad looks blessed with a winning mentality and despite being in a touch group, look like a team who could make their way.

Looking on the other hand, In the South African tent, Carlos Alberto Parreira was delighted with his players’ attitude as South Africa stretched their unbeaten run to 11 matches on Monday against minnows Guatemala in their penultimate warm-up before the FIFA World Cup.

“I liked the attitude of the team – the commitment was excellent and we created chances and scored five goals. We could not have asked for better.” Alberto

With this mindset both the teams look eager and prepared to take on the challenge. They are all looking forward for a good win to start of their Mega Cup campaign. But as always, somebody has to loose and somebody has to win. No matter what the result of the match, the quality of the football being played is surely going to pleasing to all the fans across the Globe!

FOOTBALL SEASON’S REASON TO CHEER ——FOR 2010 WORLD CUP Jun 10

With less than a week left for Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup 2010 to kick off, and players all ready to represent their country in the premier event, it won’t take a long time for the world to get captivated and enchanted with what’s on offer.

2010’s most awaited international football tournament will be a month long fiesta beginning June 11 to July 11, in South Africa. The premier event will conclude the qualification process that started in August 2007 with 204 out of the 208 FIFA national teams. As such, it equals the 2008 Summer Olympics as an event with the most competing nations.


South Africa will bring a lot of novelties to this world-over played and loved sport. This is the first time ever in the tournament’s history that the host country will be from Africa. Egypt and Morocco were beaten by South Africa in an all-African bidding process.

Alongside the 23 man squads of the 32 nations competing for glory, will be some of the finest, sexiest and most attractive cheerleaders who will add to the pizzazz of the Cup. A number of the World Cup teams will be bringing along with them a squad of exciting cheerleaders. The Squad will consist of some eye-catching ladies and men, who have made their name in the games and the modeling world.

All seems calm in South Africa now, except for several strikes in the ongoing taxi violence and services sector. Taxi organizations though, have posed a threat to disrupt the smooth transportation during the FIFA World Cup due to the Rapid Transport Systems that are under construction in major cities. Despite all the excitement and the World Cup fever that is sweeping through the country, taxi operators are not pleased with the Government’s recent grant of subsidy to upgrade their taxis to mini buses.

Assured of the swift solution to these trifling issues, the World Cup’s preparations continue in full swing with teams arriving and warming up with friendly ties with other national teams. South Africa as a whole is all set for hosting the world’s biggest football event – FIFA World Cup 2010. So let the month long fiesta begin…

The Extravagant Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium Jun 08

The nelson Mandela bay Stadium located at Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is one of the three coastal stadiums built in the expectation of the FIFA World Cup 2010. This stadium can accommodate as many as 48,000 viewers and is built at a cost of US $270 million. It also has 4,000 seats installed in excess to accommodate the FIFA world Cup lovers.

Except for the FIFA anticipation, regular football and rugby matches are organized here and there are even concerts that take place at this venue. The design of this stadium is spectacular and unique in its own way. This stadium is endowed with an exclusive roof structure, made up of platelets hence; it resembles the look of a flower. It has the view of the North End Lake.

The playing surface in this stadium is made up of natural green grass and the adjoining areas of the pitch are made of artificial turf. However with the onset of FIFA World Cup the entire field would be made up of rye grass. This stadium will host eight games during the world cup among which there would be five group games, a round of 16 game, a quarterfinal and the 3rd/4th playoff.
