There are a variety of different places all over Los Angeles that go beyond the shoreline. These are some great parks and lakes that can be very attractive to all sorts of people including locals and tourists.

Reeves Park in the Beverly Hills area is a popular site to see. Reeves Park is noted for its wide open grassy fields for sunbathing activities. It is an area that is also located right along some of the wealthiest parts of Los Angeles. Don’t be surprised if one runs into a big name celebrity sunbathing out here.

The Mid-City West neighborhood of Los Angeles is home to the Pan Pacific Park. This is a sunbathing spot that is home to a large number of open lawns that are located right next to a variety of different winding jogging tracks. It is a large area that is visited daily by a large number of people but is still intimate enough for sunbathers to enjoy.

Echo Park Lake is another sunbathing spot to see in Los Angeles. This lake, which is located at Echo Park on the northern tip of downtown Los Angeles, is remarkably quiet during much of the year. This gives anyone plenty of time to relax and enjoy sunbathing without having to worry about too many nearby distractions.

The next site to check out is the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area that is right near Culver City. This recreation park is open to the public and features a variety of large lawns located right near the Village Green neighborhood. This is an appealing site for sunbathers as well as for people who are interested in having parties and other special events on the lawn.

Elysian Park is another impressive site for sunbathing inside of Los Angeles. This park, which is right in between the Echo Park and Chinatown neighborhoods of the city, is a notable park that is home to a massive amount of beautiful palm trees. It will be important to be careful during days when the Los Angeles Dodgers play out at Dodger Stadium. The traffic around the area can get to be tight on game days with all of the fans piling into the area.

These are some of the best sunbathing spots to check out within the boundaries of Los Angeles. They are all areas that prove that a person doesn’t have to head all the way out to the beaches of Los Angeles to enjoy a good tan.

Northern California is blessed with some of the most beautiful places to sunbathe that are the inspiration for many poets, songwriters, and artists from all over the globe.  The magnificent black sand beach in a small hamlet called Shelter Cove in Humboldt County is a beautiful day beach and a great place to do so whale spotting. The Mendocino Coast is also home to some of the best beaches to sunbathe. Many of these are the most pristine and less crowded beaches in California. Elk Cove Beach, also known as Greenwood Beach which is a part of Greenwood Beach State Park is an excellent place for fishing and kayaking as well.

Marin County home to Muir Beach, a beautiful sandy beach where you can even surf, hold campfires, and do a bit of fishing, when you aren’t sunbathing. A mere 20 miles from San Francisco is Bolinas Beach, in the tiny hamlet of Bolinas. While you sunbathe you can also get a chance to watch seals swim about in this tranquil rural setting. Stinson Beach is another beach that is ideal for swimmers and surfers. For some safe surfing and the opportunity to watch some splendid tide pools and sand dunes, head over to Dillon Beach which is an hour’s drive north of San Francisco.
