The Most Adventurous South Africa World Cup Travel Accommodations Jul 20

This year the biggest sporting event in the world- football tournament is being hosted by South Africa from June 11th to July 11th.  For those travelers who are a little more adventurous then a flight from their hometown to then climb into the back seat of a taxi to get to their hotel, they may want to consider an alternative- the Bax Bus.

For the more adventurous, there is something called the Bax Bus.  While you may think “a bus” well, it is not just a bus, but an incredible journey. The Bax Bus is used for transporting travelers from around the world in an adventurous sightseeing travel of South Africa as it transports them through a stunning route as it takes them to their hotel.

The Bax Buses are semi-luxury, 19 passenger buses that allow the traveler the comfort as they journey to their destination in South Africa.  It is also a wonderful way to meet fellow travelers that are too in South Africa for the World Cup…or just for a visit.

The Baz Bus is serving six of the nine World Cup host cities.  The six serviced by the Baz Bus are Cape Twon, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit, Pretoria, and Johannesburg.  For the traveler wishing to visit all six cities there is something called the Hop-On Hop-Off ticket which is a combination of cities- Cape Town to Durban and Durban to Johannesburg loop.  When you choose your return from the Cape Town/Durban section you will have the option of hitting Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, twice.

The Bax Buss is not inexpensive however.  When you choose the Hop-On Hop-Off with the return from the Cape Town/Durban it is right around $660.  The advantage- it is a stunning and absolutely fabulous way to explore South Africa and travel between the host cities.

The Baz Bus is not the only means of transportation that South Africa has to offer.  Other means of transportation include autos, taxis, motor scooters, bicycles, tour buses and public transportation.  Depending upon where you stay, your hotel may offer a shuttle service to various locations as well.  So, for soccer fans around the world, prepare to have the adventure of your life as you step foot into South Africa to explore the many wonders of its homeland.

For those interested in the South Africa World Cup it is being hosted between June 11th and July 11th of this year, 2010.
