Child Friendly Beaches in the United States May 19

When taking the kids for a beach vacation, you have to make sure the beaches you take them to are child friendly beaches. In other words, you are not going to be taking your child to a nude beach or a beach that is known for very heavy partying. Party beaches are those with a lot of college students drinking non-stop.

Both the East and West coasts of the United States are consumed with beaches. For instance, on the East Coast you have beaches as far north as Maine. Orchard Beach serves as an especially nice family getaway in a region that is cooler than beaches you’ll find further south.

Here is a list of other child friendly beaches that you can consider for your next family vacation:

  • Coast Guard Beach – This beach is found on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Hiking, swimming, building sandcastles, shops, restaurants, and great places to eat make this a beach that has received rave reviews.

  • Myrtle Beach – Myrtle Beach is South Carolina’s most famous beach. You have miles of beach with premium lodging. There are plenty of activities for children to enjoy. There are arcades, an amusement park, plenty of shopping, plenty of restaurants, put-put golf ranges, golf courses for golfing families, go-carts, Ripley’s Believe it or not (museum and aquarium), and so much more. This is a Spring Break beach, but not to the extent of Florida beaches such as Daytona Beach.

  • Daytona Beach – If you will be vacationing outside of spring break, Daytona Beach, Florida offers a lot to families. This 20 mile long beach offers premium lodging, arcade games, shows, rides, shops, movie theaters, and so much more.

  • The Outer Banks – The Outer Banks is proving to be one of the best getaways offered by North Carolina. There are sand dunes that the kids can enjoy, boardwalks, shops, and the beaches are not overly crowded.

  • Coronado Beach – This beach, located in San Diego, California is a great beach for kids. Fish can be seen jumping, the sand is ideal for sand castles,

  • Newport Beach – You can head to Newport, Oregon to experience a cooler climate and observe whales from a distance in a beach environment.

  • Dune State Park Beach – Located in Gary, Indiana, this is not an ocean beach, but a lake beach that offers a few miles of sandy beach for kids and their parents to enjoy swimming and sunning. When not on the beach, you can camp or go hiking.

So when looking for a great beach to take the kids, the above are great suggestions for you. There are, however, many beaches that you can take the kids based on the activities that you and them want to do.

Among the world’s most luxurious and most expensive swimming pool is the twenty acre pool located at the San Alfonso Del Mar resort in Chile. The pool is the size of three football fields and has entered the Guinness World Record books as the largest swimming in the world. Even at the deepest end at 115 feet you can still manage to get a glimpse of the bottom since the waters are crystal clear at all times.

While swimmers can have a great time at the pool at San Alfonso del Mar, people are also allowed to navigate small boats in the pool, which makes it one of the most favorable places to enjoy a relaxing time. The pool took five years to build but is well worth the effort.  The pool is also among the healthiest with the least amount of toxins than normal pools. The water is purified through a Pulse Oxidation process designed by the pool’s constructor. The unique pyramid-like structures that makes up the residential complex provides an excellent view of the ocean and the swimming pool. At any time, you can see colorful sailboats along the crystal blue waters over the entire stretch.

Always Watch for Water Conditions At the Beach May 07

A good thing to do when heading out to the beach is to take a good look at the water conditions in one’s area. The water conditions are especially important in that they can be very dangerous at some times. There are many things to see with regards to the waters at the beach that one is going to.

A good thing to do is to take a look at the water temperature for the day. The water temperature should be somewhere between sixty and eighty degrees Fahrenheit. These are safe temperatures for swimming or enjoying the water.

In addition to this it will help to take a look at the high and low tides for the day. These conditions refer to when the water is going to be at its highest and lowest points of the day respectively. This is a good thing to do when planning a day at a beach because sometimes the area that one pitches a spot on the shore at could end up being underwater in just a matter of hours.

The next tip to use is to take a look at the waves that are coming about. In some cases rip currents, which are waves that can drag a person out into the water, can occur in severe cases. These currents can be very dangerous. It will help to consult a lifeguard at the beach to see if any of these currents are present.

In fact it will help to take a look at the flag that is being used on the beach. A warning flag will be posted along the beach as a means of stating the conditions of the water. If the flag is green then the water will be safe to go into. When the flag is yellow the conditions will be a little rough and caution should be considered. If a red flag is out then people will be strongly encouraged to stay out of the water due to rough conditions.

Finally there is the concern of water pests. These include such things as alewives that can float to the shore or jellyfish that can come out close to the beach. These creatures can be incredibly bothersome and should be reported if one sees them in an area. It will be best to avoid panicking in the event that a person does see any of these creatures when out at the beach.

The Best Beaches in the World for Sunbathing May 06

Did you know that white sandy beaches are not what they are always cracked up to be? If this confuses you, an explanation is certainly in order if you’re looking for a fun beach to sunbathe at.

When looking for a sunbathing beach, visiting a beach in the tropics can be exciting, but the white sand that we love so much is actually decayed sea critters and fish excrement. This effect is the direct result of reef-grazing fish biting and scraping off pieces of coral as they look for their dinner. The fine white grains then wash up on the beach and visitors enjoy it.

Nevertheless, this is not saying you cannot have a good time. It is simply best to know what you are exposing your body to. Nevertheless, many find that yellow sandy beaches are ideal. Yellow sand, fortunately, comes from millions of years of seashell and rock degradation. However it may be too hot to walk on barefooted because it draws the sun so well and retains heat. The same applies to black sand.

So which is better?

Well, white sandy beaches, despite their sand’s composition, reflects sunlight so that you do not burn in a matter of minutes or feel as if you are lying out in an oven. Nevertheless, you may choose whichever beach you feel is best for you. But if you need a little help determining which beach that is. Here are a few of the best sunbathing beaches in the world:

  1. Las Islas Cies in Galacia, Spain – Although a stunning beach, you will find fewer people here. The Atlantic coastline looks amazing and the sun shines bright. In the meantime, the white sandy beach keeps you rather cool while being able to enjoy sunbathing.
  2. Daytona Beach in Daytona Beach, Florida – Although a busy beach, Daytona Beach is a hot spot for sunbathing and lots of fun. This white sandy beach offers many lodging options and plenty of activities.
  3. Arambol in Goa, India – This is a beach commonly known for expats and hippies. However, even the most wary of sunbathing travelers find this beach to be rather beautiful and charming.

These are just a few of the premier beaches in the world for sunbathing. You may have your own beach preference, but, if not, you can always explore new possibilities and open yourself to an entire new world of sunbathing.

Choose the perfect sunbathing spot Apr 25

Sunbathing can be the perfect relaxment if you do it right, but if you choose the wrong place, get ready to the most horrible experience of your life. Check out this guide and learn about the sunbathing as it should be.

1)      Before getting to the place, always remember to put sunglasses and sunscreen.

2)      Where is it located? Is it on the beach? By the pool? On your roof?
All those places have incredible importance since the sun is extremely powerful if there is no water or something similar to capture the rays, so staying near the swimming pool or on the beach is the best choice.

3)      How much sun are you exposed to? Being exposed to 360 angles of sun is bad; you should be exposed only to 180 angles of the sun, and using suntan lotion.

4)      How do you sit? The best way of sunbathing, is lying on a towel on the floor or sand, and lying on your back is preferred.

5)      And now for the macro scale – in which continent is tanning better?
Europe is the answer. As the costal temperature is about 15 Celsius, the sun is not so harmful and is prolly the best choice.
Antalya, and Turkey in general is good too, as it`s  not so hot.
Middle East, especially Israel is one of the best choices too,  as it offers full sand, nice water and is just in the middle of the best weather possible, for sunbathing.

6)      Want to sunbath all day long? Not possible in most countries, but Thailand seems to make this wish possible, as its weather allows it. It has frequent rains, but good weather for sunbathing.

7)      Beach or pool? Absolutely beach, the poolside is much harder for getting a tan, and the beach allows the maximal comfort that is needed, besides that, the water there is slightly colder and any experienced sunbather knows that dipping in the water after sunbathing is required.

8)      Natural only – anywhere you go, do not forget to do sunbath naturally. Besides suntan lotion, put nothing on you, as somne of the other tanning products can damage your skin badly.

9)      Outside? Only in the allowed hours, and that means NO SUNBATHING from 10 am to 15 pm. So you’ll get the perfect tan and don’t get burn.

One can appreciate the will for being popular and trying to tan to be “cool”, but, if you won’t do it right, you’ll end up burned, hurt, and with high-risk for cancer. Following the safety tips and tanning in the right places makes the difference between burned and tanned.

If there is one thing that the California Coast is known for, it is its wonderful beaches. These beaches are great for sunbathing because they include lots of sunshine, sand, swimming, and plenty of amenities for a great vacation.

Beginning with San Diego County and moving to the other Southern California beaches, the sunshine is plentiful. Although every beach in California has the potential to be a great sunbathing beach, the Northern California beaches are not as sunny.

From Sonoma to the Oregon border, the beaches offer great beachcombing opportunities, but the sun is not as concentrated or even out as often as it is in the south.

So now that you know the southern beaches are the best with their pale to medium-colored sand, you now know where to go. And just to let you know what you can do while at these beaches, you have cliffs, lots of waves, coves, and the warmest temperatures that you will find along California’s coast.

The only location you really want to avoid is the Palm Desert region because it is very hot. You can find the best sunbathing opportunities at Ocean Beach, Silver strand, Imperial Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Carlsbad, Del Mar, San Onofre, Oceanside, Dana Point’s Doheny, San Clemente, Corona Del Mar, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, Torrance Beach, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Venice Beach, Play del Rey, Hermosa Beach, Malibu, Oxnard Dockweiler Beach, Ventura, Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria.

As the temperatures drop, there are the hidden coves of Avila Beach and Pismo Beach, as well as Capitola and Santa Cruz.

To be continued…
