Among the world’s most luxurious and most expensive swimming pool is the twenty acre pool located at the San Alfonso Del Mar resort in Chile. The pool is the size of three football fields and has entered the Guinness World Record books as the largest swimming in the world. A computer-controlled suction and filtration system keeps the ocean water that is drawn in at one end clean and clear. The water is pumped out at the other end. The crystal clear water offers you the chance to see the bottom even at the pool’s deepest end. You can relax in the water that is kept at a constant 78 F. While the pool cost $2 billion to build it requires $4 million a year for maintenance.

The San Alfonso Del Mar in Algarrobo is also the world’s largest swimming pool. The city is a great summer destination and a splash in the clear blue waters is what every tourist looks forward to. The 1,000 meter long swimming pool stands out on the travel map with tourists from all over the world flocking to the area. Chilean biochemist, Fernando Fischemann, used his revolutionary techniques to build this man-made paradise. The pool is spread over 8 hectares of land and holds over 65 million gallons of water. Even at the deepest end at 115 feet you can still manage to get a glimpse of the bottom since the waters are crystal clear at all times.

While swimmers can have a great time at the pool at San Alfonso del Mar, people are also allowed to navigate small boats in the pool, which makes it one of the most favorable places to enjoy a relaxing time. The pool took five years to build but is well worth the effort.  The pool is also among the healthiest with the least amount of toxins than normal pools. The water is purified through a Pulse Oxidation process designed by the pool’s constructor. The unique pyramid-like structures that makes up the residential complex provides an excellent view of the ocean and the swimming pool. At any time, you can see colorful sailboats along the crystal blue waters over the entire stretch.

If you have never tried kayaking on a pool then you need to experience it at the San Alfonso Del Mar. You can transfer from one corner of the pool to another in a kayak or small boat.
